To celebrate our Pilot Grove Sesquicentennial, all students 3rd-7th grades and HS Art students are participating in an Art Contest that honors our founding members Florence "Winky" Chesnut and Ann Betteridge.
Description: Create an image with pencil, colored pencil, ink, watercolor, acrylics, photographs, or other homemade means that represents a memory, family member, friend, location, or event (experience by you or told or related to you, that you read about or that made a lasting impression that was or is meaningful to you) in the community of Pilot Grove. Your artistic creation should not use computer media or technology created graphics but be in the student's own hand or with older equipment that does not represent current social media graphics and programs.
Take and email or bring in a photo of what you plan to use as inspiration no later than Monday, March Ideas are limitless...examples might be: old farm/barn/implements; photo of person/people; or locations, such as, kitchen, Katy Trail, ball fields, school, church, etc. Students will be given time during art class to work on this, however, they are welcome to complete this outside of school.
You are welcome to email your photo to cbrueckner@pilotgrove.k12.mo.us for printing and use during art class.
There will be a permission to participate form sent home that MUST be signed and returned asap.
