Reardon

Leslie Reardon, rootEd Advisor at Pilot Grove C-4, got to experience first hand what a recruit of the Marines is expected to overcome while in Boot Camp.  Mrs. Reardon was able to spend 5 days in San Diego, California learning about the Marines; the job opportunities, educational opportunities and what characteristics make a successful service man or woman.  The information shared will help her provide more specific information to students who are considering joining the military.  She shares two of her favorite moments from the week.  The first was being able to watch the recruits receive their pin at the CGA ceremony and observing the recruits faces as they achieved their goal of being called a Marine.  The second was the Graduation Ceremony when the Marines had graduated and their families rushed to their son/daughter and seeing the love and pride the Marine and their family held for what they had accomplished.  The Marines provided the funding for this professional development opportunity and

Mrs. Reardon encourages other High School educators to attend so they can broaden their understanding of the military and the opportunities they can provide to our students.
